Tournament favourites India take on their great rivals Pakistan for a place in the World Cup final on Wednesday morning in what is expected to be one of the most watched cricket matches of all time. The semi-final in Mohali is set to be a classic encounter and India go in as favourites at odds of 4/6 with William Hill, while Pakistan can be backed at odds of 11/8.

This Indian side boast plenty of attacking talent and opener Virender Sehwag knows only to attack when batting so it could be a worth a punt on India's first over involving over 4.5 runs at odds of 11/10. India's batsmen have scored five centuries this World Cup, which is in stark contrast to Pakistan who have failed to score a hundred and don't have a single batsmen in the top 25 runscorers in the competition.

Pakistan continue to impress in the tournament despite the lack of runs from their batsmen and they destroyed West Indies by 10 wickets in the quarter-finals. Their bowling has been key to many of their displays, with captain Shahid Afridi taking 21 wickets, but we fancy paceman Umar Gul could be worth a look to be top bowler this week. Gul is likely to thrive on a Mohali wicket that suits pace and bounce, and with 14 wickets at 3.86 already he is priced at odds of 7/2 to be top Pakistan bowler this week.
Interestingly seven of the last nine matches in Mohali have been won by the side batting first so the toss could prove crucial. While India look to have the edge against a mercurial Pakistan side and have won all four of their previous World Cup meetings, and this fifth looks set to be a great sporting encounter.
