Nottingham ‘Outlaws’ are ready to do so battle under fllodlight with defending champions, Sussex ‘Sharks’ in this second Twenty20 Cup Quarter Final at Trent Bridge. The Bookmakers in fact make the ‘Outlaws’ favourites with Blue Square offering them at 4/5 odds on with Sussex close behind at Even Money.
Despite winning the tournament for the first time last season, Sussex have played a little below par this season, finishing only third in the Southern Group, behind Somerset and Essex. They lost seven of their sixteen games, but their nine wins was just enough to see them through to knock out stage.
Despite being second favourites to win the cup outright, Nottinghamshire Outlaws have a poor record in the tournament and have only qualified twice for the knock out stages. Admittedly they did reach the final in 2006, losing to Leics, but apart from the Quarter Final in 2007 they have always fallen short. On the batting front Alex Hales has been made 7/2 favourite to be Top Bat for the Outlaws, but we prefer the look of the 4/1 offered on David Hussey by Blue Sq. While for Sussex it is hard to resist Matt Prior at 3/1.
Stuart Broad who has been having a great time of it for England looks likely to play and if so he should be backed on his current from to be top bowler for the Outlaws with odds of 10/3, although, Dirk Nannes, who has been just as impressive is also a 10/3 chance. Our money will definately be on James Kirtley to be top bowler for the ‘Sharks’ who has odds of 7/2 to be so.

We think that home advantage should be enough to give this game to Nottingham, but Sussex are the champions and as such will be a difficult side to overcome. Whatever the outcome it will be a cracking game and can be seen on Sky Sports 1 from 1930 this evening.
