It will be a somewhat dejected Alistair Cook who leads out his England team for this 4th ODI against India in Mumbai on Sunday, following the loss of the five match series the other day in Mohali. 0-3 down after three matches, with just two to play, Cook knows that the best his side can do now is to play for pride and hope that somehow he can get his bowlers and batsmen to play well in the same match for a change, something that the team has failed to do during this short tour. India of course will now attempt to eclipse the 0-3 ODI series defeat they suffered at the hands of England in England last month, by securing a 5-0 whitewash. For India, it is a question of take your pick, they have all shown good form at one stage or another, but the way Gambhir batted the other night in Mohali he would be the selection with odds of 7/2.
In the bowling stakes, Steven Finn was by far the most economical of the English attack the other day and would be worth backing at 7/2 to be England’s top wicket taker on Sunday, while the 3/1 about Praveen Kumar being top Indian also looks a sound bet.
