South Africa's Rabada To Star In The First Test At Lord's
England get their first taste of Test Cricket of 2017 as they take on South Africa at Lord's from Thursday and we fully expect a depleted Proteas side to give the hosts plenty to think about at 'The Home Of Cricket'...
- England's last 6 Test results at Lord's - Won 1, Drawn 2, Lost 3
- Kagiso Rabada in 3 Tests against England - 22 wickets at 21.90

England go into Joe Root's first ever Test match as captain as 10/11 favourites but we simply cannot back them at that price. Why not? Well, England lost eight Tests in 2016 and their recent record at Lord's leaves plenty to be desired.
England have won just one of their past six at Lord's (drawn two, lost three) and they haven't beaten South Africa at this famous old ground in St John's Wood since 1960, losing four and drawing two since.
Furthermore, Root has a few selection issues as the recalled Gary Ballance comes in at first drop in the batting order, behind openers Keaton Jennings and Alastair Cook, with the latter 3/1 favourite to be top England batsman (Paddy Power) after averaging 66.70 in the County Championship this season.
The English also have two frontline spinners in their attack for a Lord's Test for the first time since 1993, with Liam Dawson and Moeen Ali both in the team, while the fitness of the pace quartet of Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Ben Stokes and Mark Wood remains a concern.
South Africa Offer Value
South Africa have selection issues too as AB De Villiers, Dale Steyn and Faff Du Plessis are all missing for various reasons, although it would be dangerous to write off the Proteas as they have not lost a Test series in England this millennium.
It is Kagiso Rabada who could be the man to lead the bowling attack for the visitors as he has been nothing short of a sensation. The South African quick has taken 47 wickets at 23.17 in his last ten Tests and we like the look of the 3/1 for him to be his team's top bowler (William Hill).
Rabada took 22 wickets at 21.90 in three Tests against England on home soil last year and he has shown an aptitude for English conditions as he ended the recent One Day International series as top wicket-taker with seven poles. Any concerns that Rabada might struggle with the famous Lord's slope were dismissed by his stunning return of 4 for 39 in the ODI there in May.
Quite simply, Rabada could blow this England batting line-up away.
De Kock To Flourish
South Africa are fiercely proud of their record in England and they are hardly going to roll over, with Hashim Amla 11/4 to be top South Africa batsman and enhance his eye-watering average of 56.21 in Tests against England
It is Quinton De Kock who could be worth a look to be top batsman at a bigger 6/1 (Bet 365) as he averages 59.38 in Tests since the start of 2016. The in-form wicket-keeper could be called on to produce a rescue job and he showed England that he is more than capable when thrashing them for 129 of the finest runs you could wish to see at Centurion last year.
