Anthony Joshua Tipped To KO Carlos Takam In Cardiff
Anthony Joshua will headline another huge night of British boxing in front of 80,000 people at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday night.
Joshua, who will be looking to extend his professional record to 20-0, will take on Carlos Takam who has taken the fight on 12 days notice. Kubrat Pulev pulled out due to injury.
Takam brings something different to Pulev. Standing at 6’1, Takam has no choice but to pressurize Joshua and close the distance, he’s very much a pressure fighter. Joshua has weighed in at a career heaviest; 18st 2lbs, contrasting with Takam weighing in at 16st 11lb. Takam’s come forward style may be the reason for Joshua being so heavy, he will be out powered in the close encounters and Takam could well be on the receiving end of some seriously hurtful shots. Joshua will force his opponent to drop-off, Takam will struggle to sustain his game plan and not take punishment.
Joseph Parker defeated Takam via a unanimous decision in 2016 and was knocked out by Povetkin in 2014; Joshua will go one better than Parker and will be far too ferocious and powerful, Takam will be knocked out.
The heart and resilience that Anthony Joshua showed against Wladimir Klitschko just adds to his creditability. At this moment in time, Joshua is comfortably the best on the planet. Takam will be in for a long night, with just 12 days notice alongside him being an offensive fighter; we predict that he will be knocked out (15/8 with Unibet) between rounds 3-5.

Dillian Whyte vs Robert Helenius:
‘The bodysnatcher’, Dillian Whyte, will face Finnish giant Robert Helenius for WBC Silver heavyweight title.
The loser of the bout will be eliminated and therefore will not be in contention for the WBC world heavyweight title.
Whyte is the favourite, he must establish his jab and use what everybody knows he possesses; lethal body shots. He can wear Helenius down and slowly get a grip of the contest as the fight progresses into the later stages.
That being said, Helenius is far more experienced at this level and has the ability to frustrate Whyte and steal the tight rounds.
Whyte will be looking to make a statement and steal the show, if he is able to do that then he will be looking to secure a fight with Deontay Wilder in February 2018.
For this one we predict that Whyte will win via a unanimous decision (11/4 with Betfred).

Yafai v Ishida
Also in action: Kal Yafai will defend his WBA featherweight world title against Japanese mandatory contender Sho Ishida. Ishida has never fought outside of his native Japan, with his previous two opponents being against debutants. With 14 knockouts from 24, we expect Yafai to add to his impressive record. Yafai will win via a stoppage between rounds 4-6 (4/1 with Ladbrokes).
