San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs Betting: Chargers to stay top of the division

Monday Night Football this week sees the San Diego Chargers take on AFC West rivals the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chargers are sitting atop of the division with a 4-2 record but the Chiefs are on their heels at 3-3.

It looks as if the Chargers are having one of their usual seasons where they start out slow but improve as we reach the business end of the regular season. Only this time they sit alone at the top of the AFC West after not playing so great these last few weeks.

Philips Rivers is the biggest example of not being in the best form at the moment and he has just seven touchdown passes for the season but also nine interceptions. In the 27-21 loss to the New Yrok Jets last Sunday, Rivers couldn’t orchestrate a score with the offence after leading at halftime and threw two fourth-quarter interceptions which led to the Jets winning the game.

Kansas City started out the season with a horrible run of three defeats and it looked like it would get much worse for them when they lost All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles to injury. However, the team has rallied in the last few weeks and they have now won three straight to bring themselves to within one of the division lead.

Their victories have been against weak sides such as Minnesota and Indianapolis but at least they are showing a bit of fight. They are coming off the back of 28-0 blowout of Oakland but that was with Kyle Boller and Carson Palmer in at quarterback for the Raiders.

In the betting for Monday night, Kansas City have shown vast improvements in recent games but it has come against some of the worst teams in the league. San Diego haven’t been great either but they have a great record over the Chiefs, winning the last seven of eight against them. It’s usually half way through the season when the Chargers start to come into form and they might just start on Monday night.
