Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots Odds: Pats to easily cover the spread

The New England Patriots season was being written off the just a couple of weeks ago but not anymore. Once again they look like Super Bowl contenders. Most people were predicting that it was the end an era for the Patriots after the team lost at home to the Giants.

The offence stalled and the defence was hopeless against the pass and couldn’t stop anything. They then headed to New York to face division rivals the Jets last weekend and it was expected to be a changing of the guard in the AFC East as the Jets were to become the dominant team. However, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady both showed why they should never be written off as they put in a massive performance coming away with a 37-16 victory.

They now head into Monday Night Football to face the Kansas City Chiefs who are 3-5 and looking as if there season might be over. The bookmakers believe New England will win this one easily and Unibet have installed them as firm favourites at 1/12 for the win while Kansas City are 7/1. The point spread for the game has the Patriots favoured over the Chiefs by 14.5 points at 9/10 with Unibet.

The Chiefs look hopeless at the moment and it doesn’t look as if they will be making it to the playoffs for a second consecutive year. They have lost their last two games to a winless Miami team and a Denver side who threw the ball eight times against them. The Miami loss was very bad as they handed the Dolphins their first win of the season in 31-3 thrashing.

The Chiefs were playing at home and didn’t even put up a fight. Then last weekend they lacked commitment and determination again as they went down to the Broncos 17-10. It would seem that this team has checked out for the season already and that is not a good sign heading to the Foxborough to take on the Patriots. The point spread might be big in this one but New England should cover it comfortably.

Tom Brady had the Patriots offence humming last Sunday night against the Jets and expect him to keep it going on Monday night. They are ranked 1st in the league in passing and should torch this Chiefs defence who have given up more than 20 points in all but one of their games this season.
