New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds: Back Saints to have comfortable win in Tampa

The New Orleans Saints take on their NFC South rivals the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday. The Saints (4-1) look like one of the top teams in the league right now while the Bucs (3-2) are coming off a hammering by the 49ers last week.

In the betting for the game, Unibet make New Orleans 5/11 in the match odds while Tampa Bay are 7/ 4. In the handicap market, the Saints are 4.5 favourites over the Bucs at 18/19 with the same firm.

Not much is being said about the New Orleans Saints at the moment but they won’t mind that and will be happy to go on as they are. They are top of the NFC South and currently look like the third or second best team in the NFL. On opening weekend, they pushed the Green Bay Packers all the way and nearly came away with a victory from Lambeau Field but could not convert on the final drive. Since then they have won every single game and are coming off the back of battling display last Sunday to beat the resurgent Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton.

Drew Brees led the fight back in that game for the Saints and he has been his productive self once again this season and the Saints are currently ranked 2nd in passing yards in the league. Brees’ new favourites target is tight end Jimmy Graham who had 129 yards on eight receptions last Sunday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were handed a huge defeat last Sunday by the San Francisco 49ers in a 48-3 rout out on the west coast. The Bucs offence was embarrassing and Josh Freeman only threw for a measly 187 yards and two interceptions. Tampa Bay are currently 20th in passing in the league but are also not running the ball effectively and are ranked 16th.

Their defence doesn’t look up to scratch either and they were destroyed by the 49ers last week. Running back Frank Gore ran all over the Bucs defence and ended up with 125 yards while Alex Smith threw for three touchdowns for the day. Tampa Bay are coming up against an even better offensive team this Sunday so they could be in trouble.

The Bucs have won both their home games this season but they were against Atlanta and Indianapolis, two teams not even near New Orleans at the moment. The Saints are rolling the last few weeks and they should come out of Tampa this Sunday with a comfortable win.
