Coming off their bye this week, the Green Bay Packers will be looking to pick up where they left off and get another win to extend their streak to 17 straight games since last season.
The Packers are without doubt the best team in football at the moment and they are having their best every start to a season since way back in 1962 when they were 10-0. This team is just 7-0 so they haven’t got their yet but it looks like they are on their way.
Although they are experiencing a relatively easy schedule this season, Green Bay still look like the strongest candidates for the Super Bowl at the moment.
Aaron Rodgers is once again excelling at quarterback and is on his way to an MVP award with the numbers he is posting. He leads the NFL is the top categories at his position; most touchdowns, highest completion percentage and best passer rating. Rodgers is having a stand-out year and he is getting better and better.
It must be frustrating for defences that Rodgers is playing at such a high level and San Diego will have to be at their ultimate best to stop him this Sunday. The Chargers are 4th best against the pass in the league that still might not be enough to stop Rodgers from putting up big numbers once again this weekend.
The Chargers aren’t in a great place at the moment after losing two on the bounce, first to the New York Jets and then the Kansas City Chiefs. Both defeats were bad as in New York the Chargers were onto victory but let the Jets back into the game for a 27-21 win, and then the embarrassment last Monday night when Philip Rivers fumbled the snap against the Chiefs with a minute to go and they ended up losing 23-20 in overtime.
Things do seem to be slowly unravelling for the Chargers and Green Bay are not the best team to come up against if you want to try get your season back on track.
San Diego might be ranked high at stopping the pass but in their last game, Matt Cassell had no problem throwing against them for the Chiefs and the Chargers gave up their second most-allowed yards for the season. When Aaron Rodgers comes to town they might be in even bigger trouble.
With a whole extra week to prepare for the Packers and the Chargers’ performances starting to slip, this should be a win for Green Bay and you should feel comfortable taking them with the point spread of -5.5 with Unibet at 9/10.
