There's a busy week of horse racing with Cheltenham Trials Day on Saturday. There's also some Grade 1 action in Ireland over the weekend also in the shape of the Irish Champion Hurdle on Sunday.
The Carling Cup semi final second legs took place this week, as Cardiff reached the final following a penalty shoot out victory over Crystal Palace in Wales on Tuesday. Liverpool will meet Cardiff in the final following their 2-2 draw against Manchester City at Anfield on Wednesday night ensured an aggregate win.
The Premier League takes a break this week as the top teams are involved in the FA Cup 4th Round. Spurs beat Watford 1-0 in Friday's live game but the weekend's highlight is the Liverpool versus Manchester United clash on Saturday.

2.35pm - Cheltenham - Argento Chase (Sat)
Saturday's Argento Chase is the big race at Cheltenham's Trials Day. The Phillip Hobbs trained Captain Chris is currently battling it out for favouritism with 2010 Hennessy winner Diamond Harry. It's a good field including the Paul Webber trained Time For Rupert and this season's Hennessy winner Carrunthers amongst the runners for this Grade 2.

3.40pm - Cheltenham - Cleeve Hurdle (Sat)
The Grade 2 Cleeve Hurdle is the last race up at Cheltenham on Saturday's Trials Day. Former winners Inglis Drever and Big Buck's have both won this race on the way to landing the World Hurdle at the Festival Hurdle. The latter is entered for the first time since 2009 and a warm favourite to keep up his astonishing unbeaten run as he looks set to dominate the division.

2.50pm - Doncaster - Sky Bet Chase (Sat)
This Saturday's big race from Doncaster is the Listed Sky Bet Chase, formally known as the Great Yorkshire Chase. Run over three miles, past winners include Big Fella Thanks, An Accordian and Simon, so staying is very much at the forefront of those who do well here. The Alan King trained Hold On Julio is the ante-post favourite ahead of National hope Shakalakaboomboom.

The 2012 running of the Leopardstown Handicap Chase on Saturday looks to be a really competitive betting race. Run over two miles and five furlongs, the Ted Walsh trained Seabass is the ante-post favourite for this Grade A contest. Charlie Swan trains the mare Stephanie Kate whilst on his own is also fancied for trainer Willie Mullins.

The Frank Ward Solicitors Arkle Novice Chase is the first of two Grade 1 races at Leopardstown on Sunday. The Irish trial for the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham in March we'll see the best two mile novice chasers from the Emerald Isle. The Willie Mullins trained Blackstairmountain is likely to be sent off favourite following his Grade 1 victory over course and distance at Christmas.

2.30pm - Leopardstown - Irish Champion Hurdle (Sun)
Hurricane Fly is set to make his seasonal debut in Sunday's Irish Champion Hurdle from Leopardstown. The Willie Mullins trained eight year old has had injury troubles but won this race twelve months ago on his way to sweeping all before him at Cheltenham and Punchestown. The bookies have Hurricane Fly as odds on favourite, with the mare Unaccompanied second favourite.
